Tibetan Yoga - Level 1

This is the first in a series of courses on the art and practice of Tibetan Yoga, Tsa Lung Trul Khor, the magical movements of the channels and winds. Deeply engaging the body, breath, mind and awareness, these practices bring us to higher states of self-realization, clear stale and negative energies, and lead to more stability, energy and joy.

In these sixteen movements we work with five winds or energies of the body, and favie aspects of our body-mind complex. We begin and end with a whole body movement that employs sound and visualization to bring us to a clear state of being. Then we work with the region of the heart and our life-force, the head and our upward moving energy, the core and our inner warmth, the pelvic region and our downward moving energies, and finally we return to movements for the whole physical and energy body and especially the limbs.

These movements are suitable for almost everyone! Traditionally done on the floor, Rob offers modifications for all levels, including performing all of the movements from a chair. This course assumes familiarity with both the Nine Breaths of Purification and the Five External Tsa Lung practices. If you have not taken those courses previously, you will need to start there. Even if you know these practices from elsewhere, I encourage you to start with them. They lay the foundation for all that comes in this and other classes. The only counter-indications are uncontrolled high blood pressure and heart conditions.
